The end is a new begining…

Reading is a sweet pleasure and coming to the end of a really enjoyable story is just as sweet a sorrow. You feel a little empty inside, and slightly lost; looking around for the next good good-read in which to escape.

It works this way whether reading for pleasure or as the narrator of an audio book. The difference is that as the narrator you become even more familiar with the characters. You might think that listening to a book multiple times while editing and checking the end result would become tiring, even monotonous; and perhaps for some it does.

I just put the finishing touches to “The Covenant of Wickersham Hollow” by Thomas A. Bradley, an audio book that provides the better part of nine hours 9 of entertainment, and which was thoroughly enjoyable. Coming up to the end of the work that old melancholy feeling of leaving good friends started to creep in when it too suddenly ended.

Michael Matson reached out to me and asked if I would narrate his book “The Diamond Tree”, which good reads describes “a classic fairy tale that is a fun read for kids and for adults who read to kids”.

The story follows a young coming of age prince as he seeks adventure and to make his mark on the world. Join him as he has the greatest adventure and wins the fairest prize of all. The Diamond Tree is a story to be enjoyed by all ages.

Either of these two works, while having very different audiences, would make excellent gifts and should be available just in time for the holidays. I hope you enjoy listening to them as much as I did reading and producing them.

Now that the melancholy feeling mentioned earlier has returned, I’m off on my own quest to find yet another book to read and bring to life and share with you via audible and other platforms.

Stephen.
